In 1984, May Bradley decided to open the family business, so along with her four Daughters, she created Penguin Designs. A custom made to order service ranging from a size 6 to a size 40, based in the UK.

Over 36 years ago, May Bradley decided to open her own clothing range starting with knitwear. May deigned and created a range of jumpers in her fashion studio and work room, featuring her then, signature look of animal logos. After the roaring success from this initial dip in the fashion market and dealing with some of the big names in independent ladies wear retailers, May was propositioned by a leading fashion agent and one of London’s Department stores to take over the brand.

After advice from her independent clientele, she decided to keep the brand and only stock the Penguin Design to a smaller number of shops in each area. This allowed the range to be more exclusive as it is only stocked in a small amount of shops in each area so you won’t see Penguin Designs in any high street department store.

Since then, the brand has undergone changes and branched out to the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom market. May employs a team of highly skilled designers and still only uses the best quality of fabrics, and still keeps the designs fresh and up-to-date. Penguin Designs are for everyone ranging from a size 6 to a size 40. So whether you are petite or curvaciously confident and proud of your fuller figure, Penguin has something for you. This UK label is for the lady who wants to look elegant, smart and beautiful, yet have the advantage of comfort all day.

May and her talented team have perfected a range to suit all body shapes through the years and each garment is hand finished to the highest standard. So no mater what style you prefer, stand alone dress, dress and jacket, or a stylish trouser suit. Penguin makes them all and they do it so well.

These outfits are predominantly made from lace, jersey material, crepe and satin in such a large variety of colours. We are confident here at Frox Of Falkirk to say that in the Penguin collection, there is a style and colour to suit everyone as there range is so extensive but we have saved the best till last. If we do not have the size or style in a particular colour then not to worry. Oh no! We can have it bespoke for you. If you want to mix and match, ie: different sizes top and bottom, different lengths, sleeve or no sleeve, short jacket or long jacket the choice is yours!
